# What is UNVERIFIABLE in Provely?

**UNVERIFIABLE is the verdict when the evidence is not sufficient to decide. The runtime returns it instead of a guess: after a timeout, on an unsupported provider version, or when a channel stays unreachable.**

> A false VERIFIED is the highest-severity defect. UNVERIFIABLE is the honest answer when proof is missing.
